In February, Clinicum Alpinum signed a cooperation agreement with the UCI WorldTour team XDS Astana.
In modern professional sports, mental health has become just as important as physical preparation, recovery, and medical care. This partnership enables the cycling team to further strengthen its efforts in the areas of mental resilience, burnout prevention, and professional support for riders in the most difficult moments of their careers.
The XDS Astana Team, founded in 2006 and registered in Kazakhstan, is a professional road cycling team in the UCI WorldTour that competes at the highest level in international road cycling. With international riders from 14 countries, the team has been a constant presence among the elite of the sport for many years.
It currently ranks second in the team classification of all 123 teams represented in the UCI (including the 18 World Teams).
Led by Olympic champion and former professional cyclist Alexandr Vinokourov, the team has achieved great international success throughout its history, including overall victories in the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta a España, as well as numerous stage wins and podium finishes.
The Clinicum Alpinum, a private mental health clinic located at an altitude of almost 1,500 meters above sea level with views over the Rhine Valley, offers an ideal environment for treatment and recovery. Special attention is paid to the treatment of burnout, anxiety, depression, fears, and post-traumatic conditions. Special therapy programs have been developed for this purpose, including programs for professional athletes.
Over the years, Clinicum Alpinum has supported more than 1,000 patients and has developed into one of the leading psychiatric clinics in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, also earning an outstanding international reputation.
With its holistic philosophy and interdisciplinary, multi-professional approach, the clinic is ideally placed to contribute its expertise in the field of sports psychology and provide optimal support to the XDS Astana team and individual riders as they continue to succeed at the top level of cycling.
